What began as a project to collect a month’s worth of assistance for an area charity has turned into a much larger one and one that is becoming sustainable for the organization.
As part of his Eagle Scout project, Elliott Gantt wanted to collect and clean 2,000 recycled amber medicine bottles to provide to Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry. The organization uses the containers to fill prescriptions at GHCCM’s pharmacy, which serves the underserved and working poor population in Catawba and Alexander counties.
